#TREikon – Sweepstakes Official Rules

No purchase or payment necessary to enter or win.

Promotion Period: The #TReikon Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”) begins at or about 07:00 a.m. ET on 1st June, 2016 and ends at 14:59:59 p.m. ET on 2nd June, 2016 (the “Promotion Period”).

Eligibility: The Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the 50 states of the United States and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older. Employees of Thomson Reuters, Inc. (“Sponsor”), and the advertising and other agencies involved in any way with this Sweepstakes, and their immediate family members, are not eligible to enter or win a prize.

During the Promotion Period, post a picture to your photo to Twitter or Instagram with the hashtags #TReikon and #sweepstakes. To enter the Sweepstakes via Twitter or Instagram, you must have your account set so that your posts are visible to the public. Limit one (1) entry per person. No other attempted method of entry, including via any other social media platform, will be accepted. You may not enter with multiple Twitter or Instagram accounts. Any person who attempts to enter with multiple Twitter or Instagram accounts or under multiple identities will be disqualified and forfeits any prize won, in Sponsor’s sole discretion. Photos must abide by the content guidelines for the applicable platform. Photos, videos or posts that are offensive (as determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion), that do not comply with the content guidelines for the applicable platform, or that disparage the Sponsor or its products are not eligible for entry into the Sweepstakes. Photos and videos must be original (taken by you) and may not infringe third party rights or feature prominent trademarks or logos owned by third parties.

By posting a photo with the hashtag #TReikon, you grant Sponsor the right to share your post and to publish, use, adapt, edit and/or modify such photo in any way, in any and all media, without limitation, and without additional consideration to you.
Entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the authorized Twitter or Instagram account holder associated with the post. The authorized account holder is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an account by the platform. A potential winner may be required to provide Sponsor with proof that he/she is the authorized account holder of the account associated with the selected post. Automated entries that have been generated by a script, macro, bot or any other automated means will be deemed void.

Prizes: Two (2) Prizes per Day Entry Period: a Amex Giftcard Value: $100. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Limit one (1) prize person/household. Winner is solely responsible for any taxes on prize. No cash equivalent or substitution of prize is offered, except at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. No transfer of prize will be permitted. If prize cannot be awarded for any reason, Sponsor reserves
the right to substitute prize with another prize of equal or greater value.

Winner Selection and Notification: Four (4) potential winners will be randomly selected from all eligible entries received on or about 3rd June 2016. Sponsor’s decisions regarding the selection of winners and all other Sweepstakes matters are final and binding. Potential winners will be notified via direct message on Twitter or Instagram and will have 48 hours to contact Sponsor with a mailing address for the prize. If a potential winner does not respond within 48 hours of notification, the potential winner will forfeit the prize, and the prize may be awarded to an alternate winner. If prize is not properly claimed, it may not be awarded.

Publicity Release: Except where prohibited, by accepting a prize, winner grants Sponsor and those acting under its authority permission to use his/her name, user name, photograph, voice and/or likeness, image, biographical information and statements, at any time or times, for advertising, trade, publicity and promotional purposes without additional compensation, in any and all media now known or hereafter discovered, worldwide, and on the Internet, without notice, review or approval.

General Conditions: By participating, entrants agree to these Official Rules, which are final and binding in all respects. If for any reason this Sweepstakes cannot be executed as planned, the Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify the Sweepstakes and, in the event of cancellation, randomly award the prizes from eligible entries received prior to cancellation of the then current Weekly Entry Period. Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any individual who tampers with or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes.

 Limitation of Liability and Liability Release:: No liability or responsibility is assumed by Sponsor with respect to an individual’s participation in, or attempt to participate in, the Sweepstakes. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical errors in the announcement of prizes or these Official Rules.  By participating in the Sweepstakes, entrants agree to release Sponsor, Instagram LLC and Twitter, Inc. from any and all claims, damages or liabilities arising from or relating to such entrant’s participation in the Sweepstake and/or from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of a prize if selected as a winner.

BY PARTICIPATING IN THE SWEEPSTAKES, EACH ENTRANT AGREES THAT TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW: (1) ANY AND ALL DISPUTES, CLAIMS AND CAUSES OF ACTION ARISING OUT OF OR CONNECTED WITH THE SWEEPSTAKES, OR ANY PRIZE AWARDED, WILL BE RESOLVED INDIVIDUALLY WITHOUT RESORT TO ANY FORM OF CLASS ACTION; (2) ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, JUDGMENTS AND AWARDS WILL BE LIMITED TO ACTUAL THIRD-PARTY, OUT-OF-POCKET COSTS INCURRED (IF ANY), BUT IN NO EVENT WILL ATTORNEYS’ FEES BE AWARDED OR RECOVERABLE; (3) UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES WILL ANY ENTRANT BE PERMITTED TO OBTAIN ANY AWARD FOR, AND ENTRANT HEREBY KNOWINGLY AND EXPRESSLY WAIVES ALL RIGHTS TO SEEK, PUNITIVE, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR SPECIAL DAMAGES, LOST PROFITS AND/OR ANY OTHER DAMAGES, OTHER THAN ACTUAL OUT OF POCKET EXPENSES, AND/OR ANY RIGHTS TO HAVE DAMAGES MULTIPLIED OR OTHERWISE INCREASED; AND (4) ENTRANT IRREVOCABLY WAIVES ANY RIGHT TO SEEK INJUNCTIVE OR EQUITABLE RELIEF. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY, SO THE ABOVE MAY NOT APPLY TO EVERY ENTRANT.

Governing Law & Jurisdiction:: All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of entrants and Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of New Jersey, without giving effect to the conflict of laws rules thereof.  Entrants consent to jurisdiction and venue in, and agree that any claims or disputes shall be resolved exclusively in, the federal and state courts located in Essex County, New Jersey.
