In this podcast, UK-based investment consultant and fund selector, Jeremy Beckwith speaks with Jake Moeller, Head of Refinitiv Lipper UK & Ireland Research.
Jeremy examines some of the key events and issues that have influenced markets in 2016 and considers which drivers may affect investor and fund selector decision making in 2017.
About Jeremy Beckwith
Jeremy’s career started in 1983 with Manulife (UK) as an equity portfolio manager. In 1986 he became Head of Equities for Mitsubishi Finance International before moving to Merrill Lynch Global Asset Management in 1990.
Until 1998 he managed global equity and balanced portfolios for high net worth clients and institutions. He was then asked to join the ML International Equity Fund team (non-US equities for US investors) and asked to lead the combined Merrill Lynch and Mercury EAFE teams from 2000. In 2003 he joined Kleinwort Benson as Chief Investment Officer until his departure in late 2011.
In June 2012 he became the interim Chief Investment Officer for Nutmeg, the online investment manager. In November 2012 he became a Founder Partner of London Wall Partners, an independent financial adviser and worked at Morningstar from November 2014 until April 2016 as Director of Manager Research.
Jeremy has appeared regularly on Bloomberg TV, Reuters TV and CNBC and also on Sky News and the Jeff Randall Show. He is a well-known speaker on the economic and market outlook and the wider investment industry. He maintains a popular blog which can be found here.
He holds a Degree in Economics from St. Catharine’s College, Cambridge.
