Consumer Confidence Shows Stability After Months of Volatility

“This month’s Refinitiv/Ipsos Primary Consumer Sentiment Index finds stability in consumer confidence following months of volatility,” James Diamond of Ipsos states. “However, the Jobs Index, which captures how Americans feel about their job security, continues to soften —now down nearly 5 points since June.”

Jharonne Martis, Director of Consumer Research at Refinitiv, said, “Consumers continue to worry about the inflation. Still, when they open up their wallets, they opt for experiences. The Refinitiv forecasts for 2022 show that consumers continue to gravitate towards experiences as opposed to mall visits.”
