At the recent 2017 Thomson Reuters Lipper European Fund Selectors Forum, Jake Moeller, Head of Lipper UK & Ireland Research, interviewed three of the UK’s preeminent mutual fund analysts: Dr. Nisha Long from CityWire, Mona Shah from Rathbones and Victoria Hasler from Square Mile.

About Dr. Nisha Long

As Head of Cross-Border Investment Research at Citywire, Dr Nisha Long is involved in the analysis and screening of over 15,500 managers tracked globally by Citywire.

Having joined Citywire a year after completing her Doctorate at Imperial College, London, she has eleven years’ experience in fund and manager analysis. Her investment commentary features regularly in Citywire’s media and the national press.

 

 

About Mona Shah

Mona is Head of Collectives and a senior research analyst on the Rathbone Multi-Asset Portfolios team, generating fund ideas and undertaking due diligence.

She also sits on Rathbones’ Strategic Asset Allocation Committee, and the Collectives Research Committee, the latter of which selects ‘best of breed’ collective funds for use within portfolios. She specialises in emerging markets from a top down perspective.

Mona joined Rathbones in September 2007 after graduating from the University of Bristol with a first class degree in Economics and Politics. She is a CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) charter-holder.

About Victoria Hasler

Victoria became Head of Research in December 2014 after joining Square Mile as Senior Investment Research Analyst. She is a member of the Executive Management Team which provides input into the strategic direction of the business.

She heads up the research team, in addition to focusing on fixed income fund research. Before joining Square Mile Victoria worked for Brewin Dolphin as a fund analyst specialising in fixed income investments.

Prior to this Victoria was a Fixed Income Investment Manager at Rothschild Private Bank and a Fixed Income Analyst at Merrill Lynch. Victoria holds a BA (Hons) in Economics with French from the University of Durham, the Investment Management Certificate and in addition is a CFA and CAIA charterholder.
