In this podcast, Martin Davis, the CEO of U.K. based fund management firm – Kames Capital, discusses the challenges and opportunities facing a fund management group in a complex and shifting market environment.
He examines how the evolution of Kames Capital as a fixed income specialist to a broad-based “solutions provider” has allowed Kames to succeed in the face of the challenges posed by the increasing popularity of passive products, margin pressures, fluid geopolitical and regulatory environment and demographic changes.
He also discusses the future of product development and distribution and the relationship between investors and advisers and considers how the funds management industry might evolve in the next decade.

About Martin Davis
Martin Davis is the CEO of Kames Capital. He has more than 20 years’ experience in financial services, and joined us from fund supermarket Cofunds where, as CEO, he oversaw the platform’s transition through the UK Retail Distribution Review and a growth in assets under management.
Before joining Cofunds, Martin spent 8 years at Zurich Insurance Group, where he ran the International and Global Emerging Markets life businesses. He was also CEO of Zurich’s joint venture, Openwork, a network of financial advice firms. Prior to this, Martin held senior management roles at Misys, Corillian and Reuters.
Martin has an MBA from London City Business School.
