Fund Selector Chat: Is Standardisation of Due-Diligence the Future?

Mutual fund selectors and multi-managers have to undertake considerable research on the funds which make it into their approved lists or portfolios. The Due-Diligence Questionnaire (DDQ) or Request for Proposal (RFP) documents are a key part of this.

In this round-table, key participants in the mutual fund selection process outline how the standardisation of due-diligence documents might lead to better outcomes for end-investors in a world of increasing regulation and scrutiny.

About Judy Wiegelt-Nash

Judy Weigelt-Nash, Pictet Asset Management

Judy Weigelt-Nash joined Pictet Asset Management in November 2011 and is the Head of RFPs in London, overseeing the production of Due Diligence Questionnaires, Opportunity RFPs and the completion of Consultant Databases. Prior to joining Pictet, Judy spent two years at Hermes Investment Management in the RFP team.

Judy started her career at Fidelity Investments before moving on to a Sales Support role at Henderson Global Investors. She graduated with an LLB in Law & German from the University of Surrey and holds the IMC.

About Nick Wood

Nick heads up the Investment Fund Research team at Quilter Cheviot, which has dual responsibilities for both Quilter Cheviot and the Old Mutual Multi-Asset team. Nick graduated from Birmingham University with a degree in Economics and a Masters in Russian and Eastern European Studies.

He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter holder and an Associate of the Charted Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI). Nick spent the first 10 years of his career at Capital Group, the US asset manager, working as a quantitative analyst within the investment team. He subsequently spent 5 years at investment consultancy Stamford Associates within the Fund Research team.

About Rob Sanders

Prior to founding Door, Rob was Global Head of Marketing at Aberdeen Asset Management and a member of the leadership responsible for driving digital change – from building corporate digital strategy to digital client interfaces and investment platforms.
