Consumer Confidence Declines Slightly As Sub-Indices Trend In Different Directions

WASHINGTON, DC – The LSEG/Ipsos Primary Consumer Sentiment Index for August 2024 is at 55.3. Fielded from July 26 – August 9, 2024, the Index is down 0.7 point from last month.

The index declined slightly after reaching its highest point of 2024 last month. However, it is still three points higher than its reading from this time last year and remains more than two points above its reading to begin 2024.
