The Refinitiv Lipper Fund Award Winners have been announced for the Malaysia fund industry. The legacy, reputation and quantitative underpinning of what these awards encapsulate reflect a truly independent and uncompromised assessment of fund performance. We congratulate this year’s fund families receiving Asset Class Group awards and individual fund winners for their superior firm-wide performance.

Individual classifications of three, five, and ten-year periods, as well as fund families with high average scores for the three-year period are also recognized. The awards are based on Lipper’s proven proprietary methodology, which can be viewed here.
This year, a total of 14 companies are honoured with 84 awards, out of which there are 6 group awards, 25 awards for the Malaysia Conventional Funds, 21 awards for the Malaysia Islamic Funds and 32 awards for the Malaysia Provident Funds. Amongst these, 31 awards were given for funds based on their three-year performance, 28 awards were given for funds based on their five-year performance and 19 awards were given to funds based on their ten-year performance, all ending December 31, 2019.

Lipper data covers more than 330,000 share classes in 86 countries. The Lipper Leader ratings are available for mutual funds registered for sale in 47 markets with over 500 fund classifications.

The Refinitiv Lipper Fund Awards, granted annually, highlight funds and fund companies that have excelled in delivering consistently strong risk-adjusted performance relative to their peers.
The Refinitiv Lipper Fund Awards are based on the Lipper Leader for Consistent Return rating, which is a risk-adjusted performance measure calculated over 36, 60 and 120 months. The fund with the highest Lipper Leader for Consistent Return (Effective Return) value in each eligible classification wins the Refinitiv Lipper Fund Award.
